چکیده
While several studies have linked rural welfare with non-farm employment, the available evidence suggests that whether participation in employment is improving intrinsically an empirical question. In addition, existing literature has focused on either food or total household expenditure such there a dearth of regarding types expenditure. Using repeated cross-sectional data from Burkina Faso, this paper shows extent impact varies and We find wage self-employment during dry season increase non-food but no significant effect Participation both cropping seasons, are associated higher expenditures, highest latter. The general patterns results suggest smallholder farmers tend to classify agriculture as primary source while incomes sources preferably oriented towards consumption. From policy perspective, promoting economy will improve semi-arid areas.

Variability of Rainfall in a Semi-Arid Catchment in Burkina Faso
s The climate in the Sahel is marked by the spatial and temporal variability of rainfall. As the agriculture is mainly rainfed in Burkina Faso, the information about rainfall is crucial to help the farmers in their decisions. A network of wireless sensorscope stations is installed in the catchment of the Singou River (in the Gourma region of Burkina Faso) and monitor at a time step of 5 minutes...

Empirical evidence suggests that regional disparities in incomes are often very high, that these disparities do not necessarily disappear as economies grow and that these disparities are itself an important driver of growth. We use a novel approach based on multilevel modeling to decompose the sources of spatial disparities in incomes among households in Burkina Faso. We show that spatial dispa...

Hydrological processes and their spatial distribution directly are relevant to climate, topography, geology, and land use in the watershed. Therefore, use of a model whit integrity and high performance for simulating the process in deferent watersheds is very important. In this study was assessment performance of semi-distributed SWAT model in simulating hydrology processes in three watersheds ...
